Copy files created, modified in the last X days using Copywhiz for Windows

In this post, we will find/backup/copy files that were created/modified/accessed in the last X days, from a large set of files using Copywhiz for Windows. Before copying the files you can preview which files will be copied when specifying the number of days or a date range in Advanced Settings window.

  1. In this video, we will copy which files were created/modified/accessed in the past X days.
  2. Select the folder, right-click and add it to Copywhiz.
  3. Go to the destination folder, right-click and choose Copywhiz Paste Advanced.
  4. In the Source Tab, go to the ‘Paste by date’ section.
  5. Select the criteria and mention the number of days.
  6. As in the video shown, you can see the preview.
  7. We can mention a date range as well.

Automatically backup files into new compressed file (.zip) each time using Copywhiz

Automatically create new .zip file based on current date/time each time you backup them. Create new version of backups each time. To compress files from various folders is a tedious task but now Copywhiz allows to compress them all into a single .zip file so easily.

Name the zip file based on current date/time so that a new file is created each time.

  1. In this video, we will copy and compress files into a new zip file.
  2. Right click and select files into Copywhiz.
  3. Paste the files here, right click and select Copywhiz “Paste Advanced” option.
  4. Choose the option “Paste as compressed zip file”
  5. Type the zip file name and click “Paste now” button.
  6. As you see in the video, we added date time place holder so that the current date time is added to the zip file name.
  7. And new zip file is created with the current date and time in its name.
  8. A new zip file will be created every time you run this project.

An another great feature of Copywhiz allows us to schedule any task by choosing the Paste Later option.

Schedule file copy with repeat options in Copywhiz for Windows

Copywhiz can automatically copy, backup or replicate files at a particular time. Yes you’ve heard it right! Now Copywhiz can schedule file copy or take backup automatically making it so simple and hassle free.

To schedule automatic backups of files, we just have to save them as a Copywhiz project. You can then select the “Paste later” option to schedule a backup of the project.

Schedule your file copy/backup. Repeat backup every few hours/days/weeks.

  5. add additional folders from here then.
  6. Click on “Paste now”.
  7. To schedule automatic backups of these files, save them as a Copywhiz project.
  8. Then select the option “Paste Later” to schedule this project.
  9. Set the preferred frequency of the backup and then Copywhiz will now automatically take backups.

  2. As you see in the video, we have multiple folders with many files in them.
  3. Right click and select files into Copywhiz.
  4. Paste the files here, right click and select Copywhiz “Paste Advanced” option.
  5. From the Copywhiz main window open the ‘Advanced Settings’ and select the Source tab.
  6. In the ‘include files’ box, enter the extension ‘.mp3’ to copy only Music files.
  7. Copywhiz shows a Preview that all documents will be excluded and only Music files will be copied.
  8. Click on “Paste now”.
  9. And you see we have pasted only the Mp3 files now.
