I have read that if you use an SSD as your primary drive, you should shut off the Windows Search service to prevent the wear that indexing write cycles put on your SSD. How does  RecentX 's indexing compare? Does it also shorten SSD lifespan as it indexes?

There is a vast difference between Windows search indexing and  RecentX  indexing.

Because  RecentX  doesn't index the contents of the documents. It only indexes only the file names and folder names which is a very small fractions (few MBs) of the whole hard drive space.

Since the changes to file names, new files/folders are not so often, the write cycles would even lesser.
