I really like  Notezilla . It is very close to the old app I used (stickynotes by tenebril) with one small item. Your's does not seem to have a way to save individual sticky notes in any sort of 'text file' that could be opened if need be by a text app like word or notepad. Any thoughts on this?

 Notezilla  can do that too.

Go to a sticky note, and choose Send To->File option. Here the file save window will allow you to save the sticky note as either RTF or text.

Also, if you got Notes Browser, the File->Export option will allow you to bulk export notes to text files.
