Since Filezo indexes the files that are specific to a particular Windows computer, the data is stored on the hard drive itself.

Meaning, the data from one computer will not be useful on another computer (in most cases) unless the other computer is exactly replica (same files, same folders, same drive).

The only place same data will be useful is in the case of clipboard.

Yes. Enable the "Auto hide window" option from the top left area of the Filezo window so that the window auto hides after you copy a clip from the clipboard history.

Filezo on Windows PC stores data in SQLite format. Clipboard data by default is deleted as it gets older (except for the tagged and pinned items).

The data is not encrypted. I have taken note of it so that we can encrypt in future updates.

Go to Settings / Clipboard in Filezo and enable the option that stops Filezo from capturing password-like clips. Also the same setting page will let you clean up the clipboard data manually.

In various application, we copy text, images etc using Ctrl+C or by right clicking and choosing "Copy" option. When we copy another item, the previous item is lost and we need to copy that again.

Instead, Filezo monitors everything that you copy so that you can directly pick copied items from Filezo. You don't have to go back to original program to copy the same item. Instead use Filezo to pick your items. It will save a lot of time.

Monitoring is automatic. So you don't have to do anything. To select an item back to clipboard, just go to Filezo and double click on that item or drag and drop it to target application. Or you can use the "Paste inline" hotkey to directly paste item into the active app window.

This is the job of Clipboard history in Filezo. Very useful.

You can use the clean up option to delete all clipboard data. The clean up option is under Settings / Clipboard in Filezo. Also from the same setting page, you can enable the option that will stop Filezo from capturing password like clips.

You would have already seen multiple memoboards inside the Notezilla Notes Browser. The below option will let you quickly stick all notes from a specific memoboard/tag to the desktop and hide the existing. And the restore option will bring back the previous set of notes. Hope this helps.

From Notezilla Settings, you can set what action to execute when you single click on the tray icon. You can choose "Bring desktop notes on top".

Remember this is about single clicking on the Notezilla tray icon which appears next to the clock.

Another option is to use Win+Shift+/ keys to bring notes on top. It may differ on your system. You can click on the Hotkeys tab in Settings (see above) and check what hotkey you have set for "Bring desktop notes on top".

Looks like you may be using the markdown editor.

Right click inside the sticky note and choose Switch to Standard editor option from the menu.

After which you will be able to use the classic ways of formatting text.

Let me know if this resolves the issue.

Create new a note and check if it is in markdown editor or standard editor.

You can change the default editor from Notezilla settings.

There are 2 ways to clear the drive J entries. When they are displayed, you can press Ctrl+F5 so that it does a hard refresh where it checks for the existence of the files and removes from Filezo if they don't exist.

But a better way in your case is to delete the indexing data and re-index from Settings.

You can go to Indexing settings and click on Reindex now. You will be asked a question whether to delete existing index data. You can press Yes and proceed.

Not on specific error, but you can run the whole copy process in silent mode so that it doesn't wait for user's confirmation on any error.

Go to Copywhiz window and click on Advanced settings. You will see the option to run Copywhiz in silent mode.

The errors will be logged into the log file.

Simple ways of creating hierarchical structures are by using nested numbered list / bulleted list or checklist. This can be done from within a sticky note using Tab and Shift Tab keys.

Linking one note to another is possible. But it works only in Windows app. You can watch this video for details.

On the PC where you installed Windows 11, go to a sticky note, then go to Send to Computer option.
Remove all the computers configured (remember the configuration) and press Close button.
Exit Notezilla and start again.
Go back to the "Send to Computer" option again. At this time, you may be asked few questions. This actually tries to open the Firewall for Notezilla. Confirm any questions and allow access and then add the computer names again to the list. Then try to send and receive notes.

In the Notes Browser, you go click on the date column to sort notes list ascending and descending. You can add other date column by right clicking on the column header.

Also another way is to right click on the white area in the bottom view and choose the sort option as shown below.

It is very simple. Just download and extract Copywhiz into a shared folder accessible from both logins. Typically it inside one of the folders under C:\Users\Public. After extracting, run Copywhiz.exe from there.

Go to each of the logins and run CopywhizShell-Install.bat in administrator's mode from the portable folder so that you can access Copywhiz from Windows File Explorer too.

Notezilla remembers 2 positions of each sticky note. The position when the note is attached to iTunes. And another position when the note is attached to the desktop. So this is the reason they move (to the desktop position) when the focus is not inside iTunes.

The position on iTunes window is relative to the iTunes window. So when you move the iTunes window, the notes also move. But we cannot do this when the notes are on the desktop. This is the reason for 2 sets of position. Hope you understand.

After you run Notezilla, go to the Notezilla menu as shown below, select Sync option and sign into the sync account using your email address. The same account that you use from your phone. If you are already signed into another account then click on Account settings and sign out from the existing account.

When Filezo window is shown next to the File open/save window, we intentionally make it compact (smaller in width) and remove the menu and tags panel so that the window is neatly placed next to the File open/save window.

To access the tags, please type the # character in the search window. It will list all your tags in a drop down list.

If you go to Settings and then Indexing page, at the bottom it will tell when the indexing was done last. Meaning the time when whole cycle was complete.

We cannot easily estimate the time because we don't know how deep the folders are.

If you don't see the time on indexing page then it means that one cycle is not yet complete.

Filezo doesn't index hidden and system folders by default. And it doesn't index protected OS folders such as Windows, Program Files etc except for exe files (apps).

You should see the below deskbar on your Windows desktop on top edge when running Filezo. Click on it to access your files and folders.

Also you should see Filezo icon in the taskbar next to the clock.

You can also try this. Right click on the taskbar, go to Task Manager, details tab and check if Filezo.exe and FilezeService.exe processes are running.

You can also press Ctrl+Shift+1 hotkey to activate Filezo.

The pin icon over the sticky note will allow you to keep the sticky note always on top of other apps. This is a toggle button. Clicking it again will remove the always on top behavior.

The pin must be down. Don't double click on the pin. Double click switches ON and then again switches OFF the setting.

Instead click it once so that it is down. And then test it with the other app windows.

A sticky note can disappear if the title of the Windows File Explorer window changes for any reason. Because the sticky notes are shown and hidden based on the title of any window.

I believe, the sticky note disappears when there are multiple tabs in the Windows File Explorer.

Go to the sticky note that is associated with a folder and press Ctrl+W

In the "Stick to Window" window, double click on

1. DOWNLOADED_JOURNALS - File Explorer

Then change it to

1. DOWNLOADED_JOURNALS*

And save it.

I added asterisk at the end after JOURNALS

asterisk means that it will match anything that comes after the folder name 1. DOWNLOADED_JOURNALS

Because when we are in multiple tabs mode, File Explorer changes the title to:
1. DOWNLOADED_JOURNALS and 1 more tab - File Explorer

So to continue to show the sticky note we need to use the asterisk.

I would also like to give you additional information. If you have folders with the same name, then you can choose the below option in Windows File Explorer Options dialog - "Display the full path in the title bar".

This will display full path in the File Explorer window so that the sticky note appears exactly on that folder only and no other folder.

You can use the below options to avoid creating a sticky note.

Single click option on the tray icon will open the notes browser, if you choose the below first option. Also new note will be created directly inside the specified memoboard if you choose the second option (below).

You can also mark a memoboard as favorite and use the Favorite memoboard from below menu. Right click on Notezilla icon (next to the clock) in the taskbar and select Notes Browser or Favorite memoboard option from the menu

Notezilla supports 2 kind of editors. Standard and markdown editors. If you wish to retain the formatting on phone devices, then you need to use the markdown editor and format your notes using markdown. Notes created using standard editor will be treated as plain text on phone devices.

To switch to the markdown editor, right click inside the sticky note and choose "Switch to markdown editor".

Yes, Filezo re-indexes when the files and folders are altered. If you are altering individual files / folders in Windows File Explorer, then most of the time, it is indexed immediately. But when there are large changes then the indexing happens when the PC is idle.

It happens if we hold the Filter or Memoboards pane in the top area and drag it at different location. It could have happened accidentally.

1. Exit Notezilla

2. Run the below command from the Run window (press Win+R to open the run window).

"C:\Program Files\Conceptworld\Notezilla\Notezilla.exe" /ResetLayouts

This should reset the filters pane.

For hierarchical tags and unlimited tags we had to move to a left/right tree view.

You can simply type # character to list all the tags in the search box itself.

In the version you are using you will find an option called "Sort checklist" which actually orders the list by Not done followed by done.

This option "Sort checklist" wasn't named correctly so in the latest update, have changed to "Sort by status". Yes a shortcut key for sorting would be good. I will take note of it.

In future updates, I will change it so that only the done items are moved to the bottom without sorting the whole list.
